about
A song of invitation, this little ditty arose from happy circumstances in singer/songwriter Reuben Matthews' personal life parallel to working on the Milk Of The Gods live set with the band.
Matthews wrote the song (co-writing credits go to singer/drummer Tobias Ridder for unsurpassable suggestions for improvement) and Matthews/Ridder recorded the song in mid-March, drawing on the inimitable bass talents of former band colleague and long-time dear friend Christanje Cuspje (Egyptian Cosmonaut/Baranbutz/All The Lovely Ladies).
The delectable Ricardo Röpke mixed at Muggebude Tonaufnahmen.
lyrics
When you’re gone the world is louder
Like I can’t hear the things I feel
Every day I’m getting older
How can I know if this is real
When you’re gone the city’s faster
Faces passing in a blur
Still everywhere I see your color
How can we know
Can we be sure
When you’re here there is a whisper
Like a melody in me
Can you hear the music rising
We’ll never know unless we see
Come and see with me
